Composite Image Bank

This image is clever because of the way that  the shadow  of a boy is there but only his shoes are actually there. This represents the possibility of a death and someone hanging onto whats not real.

This photo shows the power of the batters swing. It is so powerful that smoke is coming out of the top. I like the way the sky is dark grey making the atmosphere of the photograph become tense.

I like the way this represents the caring nature of a mother to a new level. It shows the way a mother ail care and do whatever they can for their child. It fights stereotypes of women being weaker.

I really like this photo because of the way the face on the persons hand is like a new identity. It fits very well and does not look out of proportion. The fact that it is in black and white makes the photo seem tenser and more serious.

Landscapes Image Bank

I like this image because of the way you can see the moon and the horizon. I think it gives off a calming aura and the blue glow further represents tranquility.

This photo is good as it captures a large landscape with the trees being reflected from the light. The blue tinge suggests the winter along with the crispness of the snow.

I like this photo because of the natural serenity. I especially like the sheep being captured in its natural form. I think this photo gives off a happy aura as the sun is out and the colours are bright.

This photo is a very peaceful one as it seems like the type of photo that would be taken abroad on holiday. I like the way that you can see out into the sea and all of the colour coordinate.

This photo seems lonely yet nice. This is because of the lone tees on the middle of the lake, However, the colours seem happier and the background brings everything together.

Composite Work Diary

In this lesson we were assigned to cary out the task of creating false images. Being able to put two images together to create one hat looks real. I found this quite hard as my computer skills are not that great. I did produce some however, they are no the best.

I used an old photograph of the London bombings in WW2,  I then found an image of an old stopwatch and placed it in the corner of the photo. The idea here was the ticking, waiting for the bomb to drop from the plane onto the city. I like the way the themes fir together and the way that the stopwatch bring some colour into it even though it is faded.

Progression

I did not like this photo that much as I feel the idea did not work. I tried to put an evil eye on the darker side of the peace symbol and an earth eye on the whiter side. However, I could not find the right images to put there and couldn't get it to be just a circled photograph.

I would like to try using my own photos and try to gather more ideas if I were to redo this task.

Richard Avedon Rsearch

Richard Avedon was an American fashion and portrait photographer. An obituary published in The New York Times said that "his fashion and portrait photographs helped define America's image of style, beauty and culture for the last half-century"vedon became the first staff photographer for The New Yorker in 1992, where his post-apocalyptic, wild fashion fable “In Memory of the Late Mr. and Mrs. Comfort,” featuring model Nadja Auermann and a skeleton, was published in 1995. Other pictures for the magazine, ranging from the first publication, in 1994, of previously unpublished photos of Marilyn Monroe to a resonant rendering of Christopher Reeve in his wheelchair and nude photographs of Charlize Theron in 2004, were topics of wide discussion.
